CURRICULUM

Delhi Public School, Bangalore East follows the Cambridge International School curriculum (CIS). It is based upon the programmes of the University of Cambridge International Examinations group, starting with Cambridge Primary and moving through to Cambridge Program, AS and A Level in the senior years.

CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY (Grades 1 to 5)

Cambridge Primary is an education programme for young learners aged 5 to 11 years. It helps identify a learner’s strengths and weaknesses and can be used to support learning and development. It prepares learners for a smooth transition to Cambridge Lower Secondary and beyond.

CAMBRIDGE LOWER SECONDARY (Grades 6 to 8)

Cambridge Lower Secondary  programme is for learners aged 11 to 13 years. It provides excellent preparation for Cambridge Secondary 2 and other educational programmes. It provides natural progression from primary education and moves towards Upper Secondary

CAMBRIDGE UPPER SECONDARY (Grades 9 & 10)

The Cambridge Upper Secondary curriculum offers a variety of routes for learners with a wide range of abilities. It helps improve performance by developing skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving. It is the perfect springboard to advanced study.

Cambridge Program develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills in:

Group 6 – Economics / Physical Education / Computer Science (any one)

*Physical Education and German are offered in November series examination.
** All other subjects are offered in March series examination
Mathematics Additional is offered to a student based on the academic performance.

CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED AS & A LEVELS (Grades 11 & 12)

Cambridge advanced is for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for university and higher education. It builds on the foundations of the Cambridge Secondary 2 stage. During this programme students develop a deep understanding of subjects, as well as independent learning and constructive thinking skills and abilities which universities value highly. Cambridge AS level is a one year programme and A level is a two year programme. It helps develop learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills in:

  • In-depth subject content
  • Independent thinking
  • Applying knowledge and understanding to new as well as familiar situations
  • Handling and evaluating different types of information source
  • Thinking logically and presenting ordered and coherent arguments
  • Making judgments, recommendations and decisions
  • Presenting reasoned explanations, understanding implications and communicating them  logically and clearly
  • Working and communicating in English.
